OmniDisk Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how OmniDisk handles information when you use the app, website, support channels, or related services. We design our products to collect only the information needed to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the service.
Information We Process
OmniDisk scans disks, photos, videos, contacts, and large files on your device by default. We may process support information you submit, app version, device type, crash and diagnostic information, and subscription status managed by the App Store or Google Play to provide features, troubleshoot issues, and restore entitlements. We do not upload local files, photos, videos, or contacts to the OmniDisk backend unless you explicitly choose a feature that requires an upload and receive notice before the action.
Gmail Information We Process
OmniDisk processes the minimum information below only after you open Email, choose a Google Account, and grant access:
- Basic Google Account information: the account identifier, display name, and email address returned by Google, used to show the connected account and maintain the authorization session.
- Gmail metadata: message IDs, labels or categories, query result counts,
sizeEstimate, and limited headers needed to identify unsubscribe candidates. - OAuth credentials: a short-lived access token provided on the device by Google Sign-In and used only for direct Gmail API requests.
OmniDisk does not read, upload, or store message bodies, attachments, contacts, or Gmail passwords.
How We Use Gmail Information
- To count messages in categories such as promotions, social, updates, forums, and spam and estimate reclaimable space.
- Only after you select a category and quantity and confirm again, to move matching messages to Gmail Trash. OmniDisk does not permanently delete email.
- To refresh category summaries you request and stop access when permission is denied, revoked, or expired.
Data Protection Mechanisms
- Data in transit between OmniDisk and Google APIs is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
- Gmail access tokens remain in the on-device Google Sign-In authorization flow. They are not uploaded to the OmniDisk backend or written to analytics or diagnostic logs.
- The app requests only
gmail.modify. The app code restricts its use to the category queries and move-to-Trash actions described above; it does not send mail, change Gmail settings, or permanently delete email. - Category summaries are used only in the current app session. We do not sell Gmail data or use it for advertising, cross-app tracking, credit decisions, or training general-purpose AI models.
- The current version does not enable a server-side unsubscribe queue, so message IDs, access tokens, message headers, and message content are not sent to the OmniDisk backend.
Retention, Deletion, and Revocation
OmniDisk does not retain Gmail messages or category summaries on its servers. Messages moved to Trash are retained by Google under Gmail rules; you can restore or permanently delete them in Gmail. You may revoke OmniDisk at any time from your Google Account third-party access settings. After revocation, the app can no longer read or modify Gmail data. Uninstalling the app also removes its local app state.
Sharing
Gmail data flows only between your device and the Google Gmail API. Except where required by law, we do not disclose Gmail data to other third parties and do not permit human access to your message content.
Children
OmniDisk is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
